Colby Sledge used to write for respectable publications, but decided instead to go to São Paulo to chill with college students and talk about Jesus and relationships. His home base is Nashville, Tenn., where he hangs out with his family, girlfriend and childhood friends that can’t seem to get rid of him. He mostly enjoys Stuff White People Like and is highly uncomfortable referring to himself in the third person.

Hello Mr. Sledge,
My name is Jake Rudin, you interviewed me a couple years ago for an article entitled “College kids in Tennessee help to spread green gospel” back when you were with the Tennessean. I am writing to ask you if you could possibly put me in touch with someone from the Tennessean to run a story regarding a wonderful project I am helping organize here at Cornell University.
The project is called Schoolhouse: South Africa and it is an interdisciplinary project run by Cornell University Sustainable Design (previously the Solar Decathlon team) where students in architecture design a building which with the help of student volunteers and project members will be built this summer in Johannesburg, South Africa. Not only is this a project that will help 80 of Cosmo City’s neediest children (and train future teachers with an additional training program), but it is an incredible experience for students from architecture (my major, of which I am in my second year), urban planning, landscape, engineering, business, and other majors to collaborate and work on a project for real people that need our help.
I am one of the coordinators of the project: Community Funding Coordinator for CUSD. It is a great project and we are still looking for funding to help us reach our goal. Any publicity would be most welcome to help promote this endeavor.
